About The Counselor

This is my 9th year at WPS. I enjoy working with the teachers, parents, and
especially the students. I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in psychology and received my Master of Education and
Educational Specialist degrees in school counseling from the Univeristy of
South Carolina. Saturdays in the fall I'll be wearing orange and yelling "Go
Tigers!" My husband and I live in Laurens with our children Brian and Ruthie
and our dog, Molly. My husband teaches and coaches at Laurens District 55
High School, so we're usually at a sporting event or playing with trains (my
son's favorite hobby). We also enjoy watching Ruthie learn new things.

My Counseling Program and WPS Mission

The primary focus of school counseling and guidance programs at the
elementary level is prevention. My goal is to help students develop more
positive interpersonal and intrapersonal skills... assisting them in
becoming happier, more effective individuals and learners. My school
counseling and guidance program is for every student at WPS; therefore, my
services are designed to reach every student through developmental,
preventative education, and responsive services.

It is the mission of Woodruff Primary School to support students as they
develop skills and strategies that help them achieve success.
