When do I need to return the Monthly Homework Calendar?

Homework Calendars are due the 1st day of school the following month. For 
example, 
September calendars are due on October 1st and October calendars are due on 
November 1st. Please be sure to return the calendar signed. I will return 
all the Homework Calendars to you at the end of the school year.

How often does Franklin go home with students?

Franklin goes home with a selected student each Friday to spend the weekend 
with him/her.  On Sunday night, the parent and child write in Franklin's 
journal about the adventures they had together. Three pictures can be taken 
on the disposible camera in Franklin's bag.  All items must be returned on 
Monday morning: Franklin, his journal, his book, his camera, and his bag.  
The student will share with the class about the weekend he/she spent with 
Franklin.

When do the Home Link Math pages need to be turned in?

Home Links are sent home on Fridays and are for you to complete with your 
child at home as further practice on Math concepts.  The Home Link pages do 
not need to be returned to school.

How do I know what Homework assignments to complete?

On the monthly Homework calendar, dates marked with a smiley face indicates 
the work that must be turned in the next school day.  Assignments without a 
smiley face are not to be sent in for review by the teacher.

When do the Social Studies assignments get turned in?

Social Studies assignments are included on the Homework calendars. When the 
front and back page of a sheet from the Social Studies book has been 
completed, that page can be torn out and sent in for review by the teacher.

How often do I need to read to my child?

To help your child grow and develop as a reader, it is best to read to your 
child daily. After you read a book at home, you can record the book on the 
Book Log included in your child's homework folder.

What do I do if my child needs to go home a different way from school?

If your child needs to change how he/she leaves school, a signed note by the 
parent/guardian must be sent in to your child's teacher. Please include the 
type of change (ex. will be a car rider or will ride bus # 4)and the date(s) 
of the change. If your child will be a car rider, please include who will be 
picking him/her up. If your child will be a bus rider, please include the 
address he/she will be dropped off at. A signed note must be sent in anytime 
there is a change in how your child goes home from school.
