I was born a Tarheel, but have lived in Kentucky and Washington, DC before
settling in Spartanburg, SC. I graduated from the University of South
Carolina and have taught school in District 4 for the last 25 years. This is
my 26th year as a teacher. I helped my brother raise his two daughters when
their mother passed when they were very young. They are both married and
live in New York City. They are like my daughters. I have a brother who is
a retired elementary school principal and two sisters. I love the beach
especially those near Charleston. I read a lot and like to work in my yard.
