My Lucky Day by Keiko Kasza is one of my favorite books. Knowing the story
of The Three Little Pigs before reading this story helps to understand the
humor embedded in this tale. The illustrations add another story to the
story and have the reader laughing out loud at the precocious little pig who
has a lot of nerve. The surprise ending leads one to think about a future
story in this little pig's life.
Ms. Kasza also has a new book on the SC Picture Book Award list this year.
Badger's Fancy Meal has some of the same qualities that My Lucky Day has.
