 About Mrs. Madden
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 (Go Gamecocks!) with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Columbia College in 2001. This is my 12th year teaching second grade. I taught at Brushy Creek Elementary for six years, Blythe Academy for three years, and now I'm happy to be in my third year at Bell's Crossing! I live in Simpsonville with my husband, Andy, our cat, Maggie, and our two Boxer puppies, Chloe and Sam. In my spare time I love to READ!!! I try to read at least one book per week, and I absolutely love suspensful books. I was born and raised in Greenville, so am lucky enough to have all of my family living in town. I go to the gym with my mom everyday for a bit of stress relief!

My Class Mission & Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all children can learn, if given the right tools. Our classroom will strive to be a place where all children will have the opportunity to show their individual strengths and build upon their unique differences. I believe that education and learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging. If young children develop a love for learning at an early age, that love will continue to grow as they do. Through the use of projects, hands-on activities, technology, and cooperative learning I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child to achieve at their highest level and develop into life-long learners. I know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. I am available at anytime for parent conferences, concerns, or questions. Through working together, we can make 2nd grade an enjoyable and challenging experience.
