I grew up in Ruthton, MN and attended high shool at RTR, Tyler High. From
there I continued my education at SDSU in Brookings, SD. I graduated from
SDSU in May of 2007 with a Bachelor's of Science in Art Education. I now
live in Flandreau, SD with my husband, Travis and my Shitzu, Jackson. I am
in my third year of teaching K-12 Art at Dell Rapids St. Mary's.
Self-expression, creativity, and communication are all very important
aspects that can be taught thorough art. In art, you have the potential to
experience satisfaction through creating something to the best of your
ability and knowledge. Without the satisfaction of a job well done and
recognition from those around you there would be no human development, which
is a very important concept for the entire world as a whole. I want to
teach students that their creativity and self – expression will set them
apart from everybody else and could make a difference in many aspects of
their lives.
