We have spent the first few weeks practicing and reinforcing our classroom
behavior guidelines. Students are accustomed to using a ticket system each
day. This approach encourages and rewards students for making "good choices"
and also serves as a reinforcer for continued positive behavior.
The following outlines the consequences when a student doesn't respond to
redirection by teacher:
1 punch on the ticket- students do not proceed toward the target goal
(changes periodically)
2 punches- two laps on playground
3 punches- meet with teacher; walking recess
more than 4 punches- child will call parents from school to explain
In accordance with our school policy, major infractions will be reported to
Mr. Dahchow.
Major infractions may result in referral to the principal. They include:
~swearing
~name calling
~bullying
~hitting/fighting
~throwing snow (or other objects)
~repeated minor infractions in the classroom
