DIBELS stands for Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Skills. This reading assessment is used to Change Reading Outcomes by: 1. Identify students early 2. Focus instruction on Big Ideas of literacy a. Phonemic Awareness b. Alphabetic Principle / Phonics c. Accuracy / Fluency with Connected Text d. Vocabulary e. Comprehension 3. Focus assessment on indicators of important outcomes. 4. Use assessment information to impact instruction to improve outcomes for students. This assessment will be used this year in Kindergarten, 1st, and part of the 2nd grade.
