Curriculum Goals

The Jewish life cycle and holidays -  -
 
-Students will be able to analyze the laws and the customs of the holidays 
that are a part of the Jewish life cycle.
-Students will be able to explain the customs and the laws of all the 
holidays of the Hebrew calender that starts from Rosh Hashanah until Shavuot.
-Students will comprehend the next units: Shabbat, Prayer, the Mitzvot 
between friends and amitzvot between the person and G-d.
-Students will become familiar with personal holidays, which are life cycle 
events.
-Students will recognize the occasions in the Judaism that are celebrated 
by each Jew at a certain point of life.
-Students will analyze the difference between a happy event like birth, 
Bar/Bat Mitzvah or wedding, and sad events such as illness or death.

Ivrit/Hebrew

-Students will be able to recognize tense: past, present, future and command.
-Students will be able to recognize the diference between verb, noun, and 
adjective
-Students will be able to write sentences useng objectives of preposition 
(with me, with you...)
-Students will be able to write in the possessive (I have, mine)
-Students will be able to recognize numbers using female and male gender
-Students will be able to punctuate correcly in a sentence (comma, question 
mark, period)
-Students will be able to conduct daily conversation and to use the Hebrew 
language as a communicative language 
-Students will be able to write paragraphs from a story in Hebrew
-Students will be able to express themselves orally and in writing to 
paragraphs using correct vocabulary and tense.

Torah - 

-Students will be able to analyze how B'nei Israel became a nation
-Students will explain the story of slavery and bondage
-Students will analyze Mose's life and his leadership
-Students will route the story of getting out of Egypt
-Students will be able to develop a clear understanding of the Book of Shmot
They will also further develop skills relating to Torah study, specific count 
mastery and love and identification within Torah
-Students will be able to read and analyze Midrashim and will be able to 
explain in their words based on the original text.

Israel - 

-Students will familiarize themeselves with the map of Israel: borders, the 
countries aroud Israel, the name of the main cities in Israel.
-Studens will identify the symbolism of the Israeli flag: the meaning of 
color and the Star of David
-Students will analyze of the meaning of Israeli anthem: "Hatikva".
