What are the Accelerated Reader requirements in 4th grade?
1st quarter: 3 books, 3.8 or higher book level, 80% or higher accuracy
2nd quarter: 3 books, 4.0 or higher book level, 80% or higher accuracy
3rd quarter: 3 books, 4.2 or higher book level, 80% or higher accuracy
4th quarter: 3 books, 4.4 or higher book level, 80% or higher accuracy
--------------------------------------
What are your classroom rules?
Be respectful.
Be responsible.
Be prepared.
Be on time.
--------------------------------------
What is your discipline policy?
A conduct chart is used to monitor behavior and work habits. The chart is
recorded daily and determines the conduct grade given for the week in the
Monday Take-Home Folder. The weekly grades determine the behavior/work
habits grade on the report card.
Other consequences include verbal warnings, time off recess, and parent
notification.
Rewards such as good notes or calls to parents, a treat from the "treat
box",
and going to the "treasure box" are also given.
--------------------------------------
What is the procedure for sending tests and papers home?
Papers will be sent home on Mondays in a GS Take-Home Folder. Please review
papers with your child and have him/her correct and return noted papers.
All
other papers may be kept at home. Please sign or initial the parent
signature
box and return on Tuesday.
--------------------------------------
What can my child bring for snack?
As children continue to work while they eat snack, we follow the "No crumbs,
no spoons, no mess" rule. Some suggestions for a healthy snack include
carrot or celery sticks, cut up apples, seedless grapes, or string cheese.
