| Dear Third Grade Parents,
Daily Life:
We will read texts about the Declaration of Independence of the State of
Israel, and answer questions about them. We will also sing songs about how
we successfully built a beautiful state, and reunited Jerusalem. Then, we
will answer questions about them.
Holidays:
We will sing a song about the upcoming holiday “Shavuot”. In this holiday we
celebrate the giving of the Torah, the end of the period “the counting of
the Omer”, and the fruits from the earth. We will complete the missing words
in the song, and find in it the different names of the holiday.
Parashat Hashavua:
We will read the parashah “B’midbar”, “in a desert”, Chapter 1 in the fourth
book in the Torah “B’midbar”, “Numbers”. This chapter tells about the
counting of the people of Israel to the army. We will complete sentences by
looking at pictures, highlight important words in the text, color the symbol
of the parashah, and find the exception words from a list of words.
Torah:
We will compare grammatical forms in the Torah and in the Modern Hebrew. We
will also read Chapter 28 in the book of Genesis, which tells about Isaac’s
blessing to Jacob, and his request from him to marry a woman from Rebecca’s
family in a place called Aram Padan. We will also complete sentences and
highlight important words. Then we will compare God’s blessing to Abraham
and Isaac’s blessing to Jacob.
Shabbat:
We will sing a song about “Shabbat we bless”, the Shabbat before the
beginning of a new month. This time the new Hebrew month is Sivan. We will
also listen to the song from a CD, and complete the missing words in it.
I wish you all a wonderful week, and a great summer vacation!
Most sincerely,
Morah Banit
