My name is Carmen Ray. I live in Ocoee with my husband, Randy, and four year
old son, Michael. I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree from Carson-Newman
College in 1998. I then completed my Master's of Education degree from
Lincoln Memorial University in 2002. During the spring of 2007, I finished
my Educational Specialist degree from Tennessee Technological University. I
enjoy playing the piano, shopping, and cooking. Currently, I'm addicted to
scrapbooking! This seems to be one of those hobbies where you never feel
caught up. This begins my 10th year of teaching. I have taught 5th grade for
the majority of those years and have really enjoyed it!
I expect my children to learn to be responsible for themselves and their
schoolwork. My goal for them is to eventually become productive citizens of
our community. I urge the students to think for themselves, but I also
assist when needed. I also aim to have a structured day of wholesome
learning. My goal for the children is to learn as much as they can while
they are in my classroom. I also try to make learning fun so the children
will hopefully enjoy coming to school each and every day.
