Whenever your child is absent from school, a note explaining the absence is expected when your child returns to school in order to receive an excused absence. (Only illness, a death in the family, and religious holidays are considered excused absences by the School Board). Otherwise, it will be marked unexcused. Please use your discretion when sending your child sick to school. If they have a fever or a virus, please try to keep them at home. Make-up work will be given for only those who have an excused absence. If you plan on picking up make-up work for your child while they're out, please call me or email me to let me know! It will help me if you wait until the end of the day or pick it up the next morning so that I don't waste instructional time with the rest of the class. * Only 9 days are allowed per year for absences. * If your child is tardy, a note explaining the tardiness will be needed and your child will need to be signed in at the office before being admitted to class. * If your child is to be dismissed early, please if possible send a note to the the classroom teacher. Your child will need to be signed out before they will be released to go home.
