Mrs. Boles' 3rd Grade Class

This gives you a general idea of what we will be doing this week!

Math: We will work on perimeter, multiplication of 2 & 5s, and equal group stories. We will take a test on Thursday over the last few lesson. We will take a multiplication quiz over 7 & 8s on Tuesday. No new facts over Christmas break.

Reading: We will read a novel -The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. We will work on vocabulary and do some different reading skills using the story like, story elements, sequencing, and drawing conclusions. We will take the AR test over the book on Thursday for the test grade.

English: We will be making several Christmas crafts through the week. We will complete DOL each morning with a DOL quiz on Friday. This is also the time we work on our cursive handwriting.

Spelling: These are words from our novel study - Christmas, pageant, entertainment, dessert, carpenter, manger, angels, awful, shepherd, meanness, insane, kindness, presents, unselfish, gifts, costumes, cigar, pew, choir, inn. The bonus word this week is adaptation.

Social Studies: My class is with Mrs. Travis for science. Check her website for information about science.

Mrs. Travis's class - Chapter 11 - Working in our community. Our test over the chapter will be Wednesday, Dec. 16th. A study guide was sent home last Wednesday. Check your child's binder. This week we will participate in making a product using an assembly line, creating a flow chart of the directions, and creating an advertisement for the product.
