HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! As we talk about what we are most thankful for
this week, please know that my wonderful, supportive parents are at the top of
my list!!!!!!!! We have two learning filled days before our
holiday. Please plan to be here!
I was so excited to see you on Friday night. Awards Night was lots of
fun. If you did not get to come, your child will bring home his/her prizes on
Monday.
I learned lots of fun things at the math conference, plus lots of
information to "wrap my head around". I can hardly wait to try new things with
my students.
First Grade will be doing the play "Santa! Wake Up!" on Friday morning
December 18. That is our 8-10 day. Our class will perform at 8:15. Each
student will need a special shirt for the play. We will send that information
home this week.
Our Christmas party will be on Thursday morning, December 17th at 8:00.
We will do breakfast foods so come hungry that morning. We do not exchange
gifts. Our service project is to bring an unwrapped toy to
be given to Toys to Tots.
If you want your child to have a yearbook, please send $20 by December
4th. The yearbooks are full color this year.
If you have moved or have a different phone number or address than you
have given the school, please update that material. Nothing is scarier to a
teacher than having a hurt or sick child and not being able to contact a
parent. Please make sure we have the newest and best way to contact you.
Have you bought your Kroger card? Kroger cards (like gift cards) are
available for $5 in our office at school. This card comes with a $5 load and
is reloadable and can be used each time you shop at Kroger. Just go to the
service desk and have it loaded for about how much you think you will send.
You can use it like a debit card. Each time you shop and use the card, Capshaw
will get a percentage of your total. What a great way to help your school, and
you really only spend what you would for groceries!
Several of you have requested my password to online ordering for
Scholastic. I sent that information on Monday. If you don't receive the
purple note, let me know and I will resend it.
If you did not return the mid-term progress report on Friday, please do
so on Monday.
Mrs. Wright is encouraging all the students to learn the states and
capitals. Please practice these at home with your child. They will get their
name on the Wall of Honor!
Starting Monday, October 5th, the Library will be open from 7-7:45 a.m.
for AR testing on Monday and Thursday mornings only. Saturday Leaps will begin
on October 10th from 9-12. Please enter through the Kindergarten entrance.
Our class has three students on the AR 10 point wall. Way to go, Brayden,
Ella, and Jaci Kate. We also have one student who has already reached the 20
point wall! Way to go, Hayden! Several other students are really close to the
10 points. Let's keep up the reading at home!!
Our specials will be computer lab, music, and PE. The schedule will
repeat every fourth day. We will have Guidance on Monday and Library on
Tuesday. Our Lunch time will be from 11:45-12:15.
