I am a native Cookevillian, educated in Putnam County schools. I have been
married to my wonderful husband, Wayne, for over 30 years. We have two,
wonderful children, Kyle and Erin. We have grandchildren in the Putnam
County Schools. I love teaching and have always taught at Capshaw! I have a
passion for reading and love to read for pleasure as well as for information! I
cannot leave out my favorite girl, Schnitzel! She just turned 14 and rules
our home! She is, of course, our pet dog! My favorite color is red and my
favorite food is strawberries. My favorite place, other than Capshaw, is
home!
I look forward to having your child in my class and getting to know you. I
feel that it is our working as a team that will creative that positive desire
for learning in your child.
SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT:
We the faculty, parents, and students of Capshaw will work together in a
safe and nurturing environment to ensure the development of a quality
education and responsible citizenship.
My mission for my class is to create a rich learning environment where all
of my students feel safe, loved, and develop a desire to learn in order to
become informed, productive citizens. In first grade, that simply means
learning the value of and a love for reading and learning to be a
responsible, caring student.
