Monday November 23
In class students began completing their graphic novel book reports. Students
should have graphic novel with them on Tuesday to complete assignment at school.
4-H speech due December 1. Students should have topic in mind and be working
on speech. Practice at school day Monday, November 30.
LANGUAGE--In class last week students reviewed rules for developing and
delivering a speech. Students viewed film discussing "how to " put together
and deliver a speech. Students are required to have a speech for 4-H--due
December 1. The 4-H leaders discussed the speech during the last meeting and
students received a handout. Last week, students received 3 note cards on
which they wrote the words Introduction, Main Idea(s), Conclusion. As
students begin to put speech together, they may need more cards to go with the
main idea card--I have these extra cards.
Assignment--Continue working on preparing speech--what topic shall I discuss
(topic may be anything student wants to talk about--good topics include
citizenship, recycling, conservation, pollution, sportsmanship, friendship,
being a friend, how to be a good student, etc. These are some ideas but
students may talk about anything they (and you) choose.
