About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
As a child, I had the honor of growing up here in Putnam County in the small "mountain" town of Monterey. I attended Monterey High School where I was very active in academics and athletics! After graduating from MHS, I attended Tennessee Tech University where I received my B.S. Degree in Elementary Education in 1998. While taking classes at Tech, I worked as a substitute teacher, as well as, an activity instructor for the S.A.C. programs at Northeast Elementary and Capshaw School. My first five years of teaching experience were in Shelby County, in the city of Bartlett where I taught 4th grade. Upon the birth of our daughter, Anna Beth, my husband Jason and I chose to move back to Cookeville, to raise her and our latest addition, Audrey Katherine, with the same small town values that we both believed in. Since that time, I have taught here at Capshaw School and loved EVERY minute! I feel blessed to be able to serve the children, parents, and the people of the community that I call home!
Mission Label:
Mission
We the faculty, parents, and students of Capshaw will work together in a safe and nurturing environment to ensure the development of a quality education and responsible citizenship. • We believe in the school as a community connected by shared goals and sense of purpose. • We believe that learning is a lifelong process. • We believe that all students learn in different ways and that instruction should be presented to support the learning styles of the students. • We believe that parents and teachers share the responsibility to help children reach their potential of becoming informed citizens. • We believe that a safe positive environment is essential in encouraging growth and development.
