Reading: Pumpkin Fiesta
The focus skills are vocabulary and predicitng outcomes. 
ALL STUDENTS NEED TO BE READING WITH A PARENT AT HOME EVERY NIGHT TO BUILD THEIR 
READING SKILLS.

Spelling: Our test over words with inflections ies, s, and es will be next Thursday. Go to our Links 
page and 
visit spellingcity.com. Click on find a list and type in Hill.  This is a very fun site for spelling word 
practice.  
BONUS WORD: presents 
Please study each night as needed.

English/Writing:                                                             
 We will be working on sentence parts--subjects and
predicates.  DOL quiz will be on Friday.  Each quiz will consist of several of the
sentences and examples done in class during that week.  You can help your
child prepare by reviewing the weekly sheet sent home each Thursday.

Science;
     Chapter 11:  Simple machines:  We will study forces and machines during this week.  We will do 
many activities in class.  We will have a test over this materialon Tuesday.  I will send home a study 
guide on Monday.
