Before the First Day

EMERGENCY CONTACTS 

Make sure the school has your most current emergency information and that all forms are correctly completed.

Make alternative pick-up plans for unexpected problems

Keep the school number 526-2414 handy.

Meet the Teacher- attend any opportunities you may have to meet and get to know your child's teacher.

TRANSPORTATION

If your child will ride the bus,find out the bus number along with where the bus will stop. Be sure your childs teacher knows the bus number of your child's bus

If you plan to drive your child you will need to make a large sign with your child's name on it to display when pickong up your child in the car line. All kindergarten children will be dropped off and picked up at the Hudgens Street entrance.

MEAL PLANS

Decide whether your child will take his lunch, or purchase school meal. If you wish to purchase school lunches the classroom teacher will provide information on how to put money in your child's account. Menus are in the Friday Herald Citizen and posted on the Putnam County Schools web site at www.Free and reduced price meal applications will be available at the parent orientation meeting and in the school office.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

The school calendar is posted on the classroom web page. This includes start days,ending days, holidays, teacher inservice days and parent teacher meetings,etc

If your child arrives after 8:30 you will need to sign them in at the office before they can come to the classroom

If your child is absent you will need to send a note for an absence to be excused.

SUPPLIES

See the classroom web page for the list of school supplies each child is responsible for having at the beginning of school.

CONCERNS

Make a list of the concerns regarding your child's personality,special needs or behavior concerns or any changes that may be occurring in your home. Request to h a share time with your child's teacher and share this information. This helps to open the pathway to immediate communication and lets the teacher know you are willing to dialogue and work together. It initially helps the teacher begin right away to meet the needs of your child.
