SPECIALS-Monday-PE, Tuesday-Guidance and Computer Lab, Wednesday-Music,
Thursday-PE, Friday-Library and Computer Lab
READING-Our realistic fiction selection this week is "The Talent Show". The
skills focused on will be main characters, setting, problem and solution.
Making predictions as we read will also be discussed. The test over this
story will be Thursday.
LANGUAGE-Abbreviations and suffixes/prefixes will be our skills explored this
week. A DOL quiz will be on Friday.
SPELLING- The words this week focus on /o/ sounds. A bonus word is on my
spelling list page.
SCIENCE- Welcome Mrs. Brooks' room. We will continue in Chapter 4-Ecosystems
in Balance. A study guide will be in your child's binder on Monday. The test
will be December 15.

MATH-We will continue with Chapter 7-Probability. I have been so pleased with
the progress of your child's verbal multiplication quizzes. Each child has a
chart in their binder which will be initialed by me when they master a set of
facts. A set of at least one facts must be said to me each week until all
have been covered. Your child will begin division facts once multiplication
facts have been mastered.
Please know that I will try to listen to your child's facts if I can, but I
would prefer to do it just on Tuesdays.
Homework will be assigned on a regular basis, but should not take more than
10-15 minutes. Your child will have an opportunity to start it at school,
but needs to bring it home for your review. Please sign each night and
return it the next day.
If your child struggled with anything in particular, please make a note on
their homework.
