What should I do if my child is absent?

Please call the office and ask for your child's work. I will have it in the
office at 3:00. This will help keep your child from falling behind. Please
realize that sometimes it is not possible to do some of the things at home
that are done in class. Please make every effort to have your child at school
each day unless he/she is truly sick. Research shows that children who attend
school regularly perform better than those with many absences.

Can I send treats for my child's birthday?

If your child would like to bring in treats, we would love it! Please send
those treats first thing in the morning. We will make a time during the day
to celebrate. School board policy requests that we serve healthy,
nutritional treats. Please take this into consideration when planning your
treat. DUE TO ALLERGY CONCERNS, WE ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT ALLOW PEANUT OR OTHER
NUT PRODUCTS IN OUR CLASSROOM!

Of course!:) We will have snack time each morning.
Snacks are not mandatory, but I encourage you to send a nutritional snack
since our lunch is not until 12:00. Students should not bring candy,
chocolate, or other sweet snacks--ALSO NO PEANUT PRODUCTS.
It's fine to send a bottle of water with your student. Water ONLY please.

When should I expect to see my child's work?

In 2nd grade, we send home a Monday folder each week. Parents are asked to
review the graded papers with your child, sign the folder and any papers that
are marked N or U, and return the folder and signed papers on Tuesday.
Please keep all other papers at home for your enjoyment.

Please review the Monday folder each week. Progress reports will be sent
home in the middle of each nine weeks for you to review and sign. Report
