Week of Sept. 8-11
MORNING WORK- DAILY ORAL LANGUAGE AND MATH
Your child should bring home his binder on Thursday night so you can review
the DOL and DOM for the quiz on Friday mornings. If you will review and
initial the weekly morning work, your child can earn 5 bonus points on the DOL
quiz. The weekly DOL/DOM sheets need to be turned in when quizzes are
collected in order to receive the bonus points.
Reading story- This week we will be reading the short novel "Flat Stanley".
Please look in the Monday folder for a letter and manila envelope explaining
the letter writing project that accompanies this unit. Be thinking of someone
to write a friendly letter to who will write back and send cool stuff!
We will take an AR test over this book, as well as a graded quiz.
Language/Writing- Friendly Letters
Spelling- A separate list will be given to your child in class for this novel.
I will ask the class to bring their binders home every night so you can review
the list with them.
TEST FRIDAY ***Bonus word is fundraiser****
MATH We have done lessons 1 and 2 in chapter 5. We will skip lesson 3 and will
go on to 5.4-5.8. We will have a day for review and then will will have the
test on Wednesday, Sept. 9th.
Math Homework: YOUR CHILD'S HOMEWORK SHOULD BE WRITTEN ON HIS/HER HOMEWORK
SHEET WHICH I WILL PROVIDE WEEKLY. We review and discuss all homework
assignments at the end of the day. Please review your child's homework EVERY
NIGHT. Please initial your child's work after you have gone over any errors
with him/her. In doing this, you will help me identify and correct problems
your child is having in math class. CHECK YOUR CHILD'S HOMEWORK SHEET DAILY AS
HOWEWORK ASSIGNMENTS MAY VARY FROM WHAT IS WRITTEN HERE ON MONDAY. I will do
my best to remember to update any changes below.
Monday- No multiplication quiz this week
Tuesday- chapter review (Check your child's planner for exact problems)/study
for ch. 5 test
Wednesday- No homework
Thursday- 1.1

MRS. BOLES' CLASS
SCIENCE-
We are studying chapter 1 Plants. The test will be Wednesday, Sept 9th. We
will review for the test in class on Tuesday. Your child has a study guide.
Students were told they could work ahead on it. We will go over the answers on
Tuesday as well.
Thank you to those of you who sent in the delicious foods for the plant party.
The kids really enjoyed it!
