Hello! Welcome to our class webpage! I love being at Capshaw and teaching
1st grade. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education
from Austin Peay State University and my Masters degree in curriculum and
instruction from Tennessee Technological University. This is my seventeenth
year at Capshaw, and my fourteenth year in first grade.
I am married to a wonderful man who took me all around the United States and
Europe when he was in the United States Army for 20 years. We live on a farm
with our four horses, donkey, five cows, one bull, two dogs, and four cats
(at last count). My husband recently bought some goats to help keep the weeds
down on the farm. We have one male named Carl and four females named Peggy
Sue, Myrtle, Virgie, and Odell.
We have two children. Our son Christopher is a History teacher and football
coach at Centennial High School in Williamson County. He and his wife,Lee
Ellen, live in Franklin with our beautiful granddaughter, Ada Jane, who is
four, and our grandson Cullen Alexander, who is two. Of course we think they
are the smartest babies in the whole world. :) Our daughter Angela
is also an Army wife, currently living on Fort Bragg, NC. Her husband, Jon, is
a captain in the Transportation Corps assigned to an aviation brigade
supporting the 82nd Airborne Division located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Jon is currently serving on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Hopefully, all of you are as excited about the upcoming year as I. We are
going to have a great year!
Help each other learn in a safe, caring, and positive atmosphere.
