November 20, 2009
-Reminder: Please inform the office of any changes in address, phone number,
contact numbers, etc. We want the most up to date information at all times
for the safety of your children.
-No school on Wednesday, November 25th, Thursday, November 26th and Friday,
November 27th. I hope each of you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
-The last day to buy a yearbook will be Friday, December 4th. There will be
few, if any for sale later so please be sure to purchase now if you would like
one.
-Looking ahead: Our Christmas party will be on December 17th from 8:00 -9:00.
We will have breakfast foods. We do not do a gift exchange. Instead we do a
service project for Toys for Tots. We ask each child to bring in an unwrapped
toy for this worthy cause. A note will be sent home soon about it. If you
signed up to help with this party, we will contact you soon.
Also, on December 18th the first grade classes will present the play, "Santa!
Wake Up!" The children will need special shirts. We will send home a note
soon to tell you more about it.
-Please remember to read books and take AR tests. This 9 weeks will fly by
and be over before you know it. I sent home AR updates on Thursday.
-EVERY Wednesday is now Spirit Day. Let your child wear orange and blue and
show their Capshaw Spirit!
-Don't forget to send back the "My Week" Sheet every day.
-Please make sure your child has their headphones as we will start using them
as we go to computer lab and use the laptops in our room.
-Please review words for the story "I Am a Butterfly" in your child's
reading vocabulary folder (came home Friday). Send it to school every
Thursday to be checked and I will send it back home with the next group of
words marked.
Don't forget snack and water bottles! Only water should be in your child's
water bottle. They may bring a drink for snack or lunch only.
