Week of May 14-18: ******NO HOMEWORK ANY MORE!!!!!!****** Reading: We will be enjoying a unit on the Berenstain and doing activities with it this week. The skills we will be focusing on this week will be FUN. Their will be no reading homework from now on. Hurrah!!! Make sure your child reads something aloud every night. The story should be read aloud at least twice at home during the week. Language- DOL[Daily Oral Language] daily. We will be working on writing this week. DOL quiz every Friday. Spelling- The words this week will be from the yellow list you received last week. We will work with these words using various activities. They go with no story. The story from " "on the 9 week list under the story. We will be completing various activities to reinforce these words. Our test will be on Thursday. Math- ****NO HOMEWORK!!!!!!*** This week we will be working on reviewing x8,9 multiplication facts and all 100 subtraction facts and mixed 100 addition and subtraction facts. Your child will have 3 1/2 minutes to complete the x8,9,10 quiz. Our timed tests occur every Wed. Each Wed. your child will receive their new set of facts. We will randomly have the 100 subtraction facts & 100 mixed addition and subtraction fact quizzes. These tests are timed. Now I am giving them 7 minutes. They need to be able to do this in 5 minutes. Please keep reviewing those. Your child will have fact and practice homework every night except Friday. Please make sure you check and sign their homework nightly. This week in math! We are moving into harder concepts in math. Please make sure you are checking your child's work EVERY night. This will ensure future success. Science- We are completing various Weekly Readers. Social Studies- We are slowly completing a map skills booklet. Spelling Bonus word: Cumberland Caverns Your child should always have an AR book with them. This is a proven system to increase reading comprehension. Keep them reading! LUNCH- 11:50-12:20 Special class Schedule: Monday- 10:30- 11:00 Computer 11:00- 11:30 P.E. Tuesday- 9:30- 10:15 Library Wednesday- 11:00- 11:30 Music Thursday- 10:30- 11:00 Guidance 11:00- 11:30 P.E. Friday- 11:00- 11:30 Music
