We are hard at work in third grade!
We are halfway through our year in 3rd grade! We are quickly approaching the winter holiday and preparing for mid-term exams. An excellent learning tool Caywood provides for your child to use at school and home is Study Island. If you have access to the internet your child may login to their Study Island account and select activities in reading, spelling, grammar, or math that are interactive, fun, and also helpful when reviewing all skills we have learned since the beginning of school. The link is on Caywood's homepage in the bottom corner on the right side. Please continue to encourage your child to Be Respectful, Be Ready, and Be Responsible!

~Teachable Moments ~
Our new grammar skill is nouns - people, places, and things. Walk through your home together and identify different items together. Who does the item belong to? Encourage your child to answer the question in a complete sentence and make a label to hang up near the item. "This is my parents' room." Have your child underline all the possessive nouns. Make sure you check for proper spelling and punctation. I understand that families are extremely busy and have less and less time together at home. However, anything you can squeeze in to your time together that reinforces what your child is learning in school makes their learning much more meaningful and important to students!
