Can you believe it is November?

At Group Time each morning the children are given calendar instruction. They are learning the days of the week and the months of the year. This would be a wonderful conversation to have with your children on the way to school. "What day is today? Do your know the month? What are the months of the year?"

Language development is the most important component to learning in Pre-K. Your children are being immersed in language on a daily basis. Nursery rhymes, finger plays, stories, and songs are taught to enhance their language skills. Encourage your children to share these with you.

The skills your children should be mastering at this time are:

1. Shapes - Circle, triangle, square, and rectangle....more will follow.
2. Number recognition (0-5).
3. Counting (1-10).
4. Spelling their names....please note (I said) spelling - not writing.
