About The Teacher

I attended the University of Alabama from 1993-1997, where I played baseball
for four years, before I was selected in the 11th round of the MLB draft by
the Kansas City Royals. Once my career ended, I pursued my degree from
Crichton College, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Education. I have
been teaching for 2 years. My wife and I have been married for 7 years and
we have two children. Joey is 4 years old and loves Batman, Spiderman, and
baseball, while Jacob is 6 months old and loves to eat and smile.

I have been a member of Central Church for 6 years, and I help co-teach a
Firm Foundations class. The highlight of my experience at Central came when
my wife and I were baptized on the same day a year ago.

I am an ambassador for FCA baseball and I am in the beginning stages of
creating a "Hitting on the Cross" ministry that will promote Christ in
baseball.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and I hope to inspire others to search for his
will in all they do. Without him nothing is possible, BUT (contrast word)
with him all things are possible.

Mr Caruso's Mission for the Class

Education is the foundation upon which children will build their lives. As
an educator, I want to challenge each and every child to be their best and
to learn academically, socially, and spiritually. I have high expectations
and encourage all of my students to do their best daily, while being the
person that God designed them to be.

Here are a few of my beliefs regarding education and children:

I believe that every child is talented and capable of learning, and has
unique gifts and strengths that should be celebrated.
I believe that children need encouragement, consistency, clear expectations
and healthy boundaries.
I believe that by providing a comfortable and safe environment, children
will feel empowered to take the risks involved in learning new things.
I believe that learning should be hands–on, interactive, integrated, and fun.
