Friday, Dec. 4
Chapter 5 test. Monday and Tuesday will be review
days for the Semester Exam. Bring all vocabulary and
chapter tests from this semester to class for the
review.

Monday, Nov. 23
In my last period class there seemed to be some
confusion about whether I had verbally assigned
Pg. 83-84 for homework. Although several students
assured me I had, I decided to give the "benefit
of a doubt" and wait to check that assignment
tomorrow. I will check for the vocabulary and
questions over pg. 83-84 tomorrow. Then we will
play Elemento, the chemistry game. There is no
other homework tonight and will be no homework
over the holidays.
Tuesday, Nov. 24
Have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving! Especially
be thankful for and give lots of hugs to those
grandparents. My children do not have any grandparents
still living on either my or my husband's side of the
family - how I would love to have more time with
those precious loved ones!

Monday, Nov. 16
A study guide for chapter 4 was given out today,
as well as graded papers including the chapter 3
test (we finally got all absentee tests made up
and graded) and the molecular mass test from last
Friday. REMEMBER, keep thoses tests. They will be
your study guide for the mid-term exam
Students also received the list of elements to learn
for the element test on Tuesday, Dec. 1. We will
be making an element notebook with notes given
in class each day. Students need a 3 prong folder
to use as the Element Notebook. The page given out
today is to be the first page in the notebook.
Homework: Study for the chapter 4 test tomorrow.
November Current Event is due Friday, Nov. 20.

Homework: Read pg. 75-78; Define vocabulary & answer
questions on pg 78. Also write the answers to Try This
on pg. 78. Bring a 3-prong folder to class tomorrow.

We will begin our Element Notebook - be sure you have
a folder with you. Have it in class each day!
Homework: Read page 79-82; define vocabulary & answer
questions on page 78. Find a picture of the Element
of the Day and glue in Element Notebook.

Current Events are due today!
No homework. Next week we will be playing a card game
called Elemento. We will continue chapter 5 after
Thanksgiving.
The Element test on which students must know the
name, symbol, and atomic number of the elements
listed on the first page in their element notebook
will be Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The chapter 5 test will be Thursday,Dec. 3.
We will review for the mid-term on Friday, Dec.4 -Tuesday, Dec. 8. Be sure you bring all of the first semester tests
to class for the review.

Tuesday, Nov. 10
No homework tonight, but be reviewing the chapter
for a chapter test on Tuesday - Chapter 4. Vocabulary
tests will be returned tomorrow.
Also, the students will have a test next week on
the Periodic table. They will be given a list of the
elements they should know, meaning be able to give
(and spell correctly) the name, symbol, and atomic
number of those elements. The date of that test will be announced latrer.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
Homework: Read (re-read) lesson 3 in chapter 4.
Complete the worksheet given out in class.
Study for the chapter test on next Tuesday and test on
calculating molecular mass tomorrow. You will be
allowed to use your periodic table in your book, but
will not be allowed to turn back to pg 70 to see
how to calculate the molecular mass!
Thursday, Nov. 12
We took the test on molecular mass. Then, as we began
to review for the chapter test, I realized that we
needed some more time on some topics in this chapter.
So, we have postponed the chapter test until next
Tuesday.
Homework: Study for chapter test to be taken next
Tuesday.
Friday, Nov. 13
Homework: Study for the test on chapter 4 to be taken
next Tuesday.

First of all, we did not discuss the atom model
assignment that I had posted last Wednesday and
announced tomorrow as the due date! So that has been
put on hold temporarily. If you have already
made a model, bring it in. I will give you credit
toward the assignment which we will discuss this
week. I will update Teacher Ease when the project
due date has been set and announced in class.
Homework: read lesson 3, pg. 72-74 and define the
vocabulary words. The vocabulary test over this
chapter will be Friday.
