May I go to the restroom?

We will take a mid-class break each day for those of you who need to go to
the restroom or need a drink of water. For additional trips out of class,
you will have to use one of the three free exit passes you get in LA each six
weeks. Once you have used your exit passes, you will get a demerit for each
extra trip out of class.

Will I have much homework in language arts?

Assignments for the most part will be completed in class. If you waste time
and don't get your work done, then you will have homework.

Do I have to do Accelerated Reader?

Yes! You will be expected to read one AR book on your reading level a six
weeks and complete the assignment that goes with that book. You are also
required to take the AR test that goes with the book. All AR tests must be
taken in the language arts classroom.

What are Pen-It activities?

Pen-It activities are reading extension lessons that a student is required to
complete. A student who uses his or her class time wisely should be able to
complete these in class; however, a student can choose to work on the lessons
at home if he or she desires.
