About The Teacher

I have lived in Greene County all of my life and have taught here for the
past thirty-seven years. I graduated from West Greene High School in 1967 and
from Tusculum College in 1971 with a degree in English. In 1982 I finished
my Master’s Degree in Education at East Tennessee State University and in
2007, I completed my Education Specialist Degree at Lincoln Memorial
University.

I have two wonderful daughters. Bethany is married and lives in Crossville,
Tennessee. On June 23 of last year, she and her husband Scottie welcomed
their first child and my first grandson Hudsun Scott. My younger daughter
Laura and her husband James are expecting their first child and my second
grandchild in March. Bethany is an assistant principal at Cookeville High
School in Putnam County. She has her undergraduate and graduate degrees from
Tennessee Tech and recently completed her Education Specialist Degree at
Lincoln Memorial University. Laura is a preschool teacher. She has her
Associate of Science Degree in History from Walters State Community College.
Last fall she completed her coursework in Early Childhood Education at
Walters State.

My interests are reading (especially John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, and
Tony Hillerman), watching sports (UT football and basketball, the
Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts), and spending time
with my family and friends.
