What’s going on?
In Reading:
We reviewed the letter and sound of Tt in detail. We learned the sight
word “we”. We began sounding out words that have the letters i, a, n, d, m, s
and t. We will also begin reading short sentences using some pictures.
Sight words learned so far: the, a, my, that, and, I, see, is, said, like and
we.
In Math:
We began talking about patterns. We are still talking about time and
calendars on a daily basis.
HOMEWORK
1. Please practice sight words with your child.
2. Please practice counting to at least 25 with your child.
3. Read, read, read!
Next Week:
1. We will learn the letter Tt and its sound.
2. We will learn the sight word “we”.
3. We will begin working on number patterns. We will also discuss positions
(above, below, top, middle, behind, between, etc.)
The Penny Drive is over! I want to thank each and every person who sent in a
penny, nickel, dime, quarter or even dollars. I will let you know as soon as
possible which class won. The race is really close. I hope we cross the
finish line first!
CALENDAR CHANGE
Please note that Coalfield School will have school on Wednesday, November
26th until 11:00. This was a scheduled day off. We are doing this to make up
for the day missed on Tuesday, November 4th. We will also go a full day
instead of a half day on January 5th.
