What’s going on?
In Reading:
We have reviewed the entire alphabet. We have talked about all of the capital
and lowercase letters. We have learned a new sight word this week. The word
is “a”. I am sending home an index card with the word “a” on it. Please add
it to the previous word and review daily. I will continue to send home new
sight words on index cards each week.
Sight words learned so far: the, a
In Math:
We have finished Chapter One. It is about sorting or grouping items by a
certain rule. This is an easy skill for most kids. Continue to practice
sorting toys, blocks, etc. at home.
HOMEWORK
1. Please practice sight words with your child.
2. Please practice counting to at least 20 with your child.
3. Read, read, read!
4. Please have your child practice writing his or her first name. Remember to
use only one capital letter and the others lowercase.
Next Week:
1. We will focus on the letter Nn in detail. We will learn the sound that the
letter makes. We will also learn how to write a capital and lowercase Nn. We
will learn about beginning and ending of words. We will continue reviewing
the alphabet as well
2. We will learn a new sight word. It is “my”.
3. We will begin working on numbers 0-5.

September 16th- Fall Pictures (These are the pictures that will be in the
yearbook.)
September 15th- After School classes begin. Look for notes to follow.
