2nd 9 Weeks Syllabus for AP and CWMonday, November 9:
AP - All from Collection 2
1. Read "Nature" and "Self-Reliance." Summarize each paragraph in a sentence. Find defend one rhetorical appeal, one rhetorical startegy, and two rhetorical devices.
2. Read "Economy," "Where I Lived," and "Solitude" from Walden. Write a one paragraph summary for each. Find defend one rhetorical appeal, one rhetorical startegy, and two rhetorical devices from the colective three. Use the ones that you understand best. You DO NOT have to analyze all three for rhetoric.
CW -
1. Submit a paragraph that explains why you chose your children's book. The more personal and specific, the better. Ten to twelve sentences is good.
2. In groups, determine thet following for your children's book project:
A. What message/theme/goal/lesson do you want to achieve with your book?
B. Who will your audience be? Age? Gender? Skills?
C. What characters will you use? Humans? Aniamls?
D. Provide a basic outline of the plot of the story.
