AYP/EOC, GATEWAY, AND EOC TESTING:
Freshmen entering high school prior to 2009/10 school year--required to pass
Gateway exam OR AYP/EOC exam in three subject areas: Algebra I, English II
and Biology.
Freshmen entering high school 2009/10 school year--not required to pass
Gateway or AYP/EOC exam AS A GRADUATION REQUIREMENT.
All students enrolled in Algebra I, English II and/or Biology I will be
required to take the AYP/EOC tests, as a percentage of the grade in the
course, regardless of grade level or graduation requirement. Moreover,
students entering ninth grade prior to 2009/10 who pass the AYP/EOC exam will
have met the graduation requirement (Gateway requirement) for that course.
*GATEWAY Testing--Students who have passed the course of Algebra I, English
II or Biology but failed to pass the exam, will retake the Gateway exam in
that subject area. Three opportunities are provided: Fall, Spring and Summer
administrations.
