Dear Student, Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to my web pages.
This year I will be teaching pre-algebra on the 7th grade Scorpion Team.
Last year I taught math on the 6th grade Comanche Team. I recently graduated
from Christian Brothers University with a master’s degree in the art of
teaching and as such I am both certified and highly qualified to teach math
to middle school students.
I am looking forward to working with you to ensure that you/your child has a
successful year. With this in mind I have attached, as printable uploads:
1. the required supply list
2. the course overview
3. the teacherease.com access form
4. my math policies and
5. a binder rubric, which explains how your child will be graded in this
class.
Please take a moment to read through this documentation.
In addition to the textbook and work book that will be assigned, students
will also be able to access the online textbook from my "internet links"
page. The online textbook has many tools and resources that will help
you/your child have a successful this year. Students can use the internet at
home or at the library to visit my web pages.
I will usually offer help sessions, by appointment, from 7:15 to 8:00am on
Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Students will need to meet me at the entrance
of the school at 7:10am to gain access to the building. Due to the limited
time available for these sessions, students who do not pay attention or who
display disruptive behavior during class will not be permitted to attend
these help sessions.
You can keep up to date with your or your child’s progress in my class by
logging on to the online grade book at www.teacherease.com. Please complete
and return the teacherease.com access form if you wish to gain access to the
site. You can also keep up with class work and homework assignments by
visiting these web pages. I hope that you will visit my web pages regularly.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, my preferred
method of communication is e-mail, my address is huntkelvinc@mcsk12.net.
Parents/guardians can also contact me by leaving a phone message with the
office, please give your name, the name of your child and a number at which
I can return your call. I will try to return calls, either before school,
after school or during my planning period, 2:20-3:00pm. If you wish to meet
with me please contact Ms. Weymouth, the 7th grade guidance counselor, to
make an appointment.
I look forward to working with you.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs. Hunt
