My name is Martha Kirksey and I have lived in DeKalb County all of my
life. I graduated from DCHS in 2005. Then, in December of 2008 I graduated
from Tennessee Tech with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I
started teaching at DMS in April of 2009 in the 7th grade. I am also coaching
the basketball cheerleaders. This is my first full year of teaching and I am
very excited about it!
My mother is also a teacher at DMS. She taught in 8th grade for many
years, but has now moved to Special Education. I have one older brother,
Graden. Graden and his wife Sabrina have a son, Silas, who was born in
January of 09. I also got engaged in June of 09 and will be getting married
June 5, 2010.
I want my classroom to a comfortable and engaging setting that helps students
to succeed.
