Miss Sexton received a Bachelor's of Music degree from Tennessee
Technological University with an emphasis in Music Education-Instrumental in
May of 2005.
In July of 2005, Miss Sexton accepted the position as the music educator for
both DeKalb Middle and DeKalb West Schools, and choral director for the
DeKalb Middle School Chorus.
Miss Sexton is a fully certified Orff-Schulwerk Specialist in music
education. Listed below are the locations of levels obtained in
certification:
*In July of 2007, she received Level I Orff-Schulwerk Certification from Lee
University in Cleveland, TN.
*In June of 2008, she received Level II Orff-Schulwerk Certification from
The University of Kentucky-Lexington,Ky.
*In June/July of 2009, she received Level III Orff-Schulwerk Certification
from The University of Kentucky-Lexington,Ky.
In addition to teaching general music & chorus at DeKalb Middle & DeKalb
West Schools, Miss Sexton is on faculty at the Stevens Street School of
Performing Arts in Cookeville, TN, where she teaches private lessons on
saxophone, flute, & clarinet. She is a member at Stevens Street Baptist
Church in Cookeville, and is a member of the Worship Ministry Orchestra
playing tenor saxophone.
Miss Sexton is also an active member of the Cookeville Community Band.
