I was born and grew up in the country of Guatemala, Central America due to my
parents doing mission work there. I have been blessed with various cultural
experiences (including being fluent in Spanish) throughout my life, as I have
traveled extensively throughout the Western Hemisphere. It is my desire to
give students as many opportunities as possible to experience the world around
them, which in turn will help them understand themselves and their own culture
more fully.
My husband and I recently moved to Dekalb county from the Nashville area. I
taught for 5 years at Currey Ingram Academy, a private school for students
with learning differences located in Brentwood, TN.
In my free time, I enjoy working with my hands (cooking, arts and crafts,
sewing), being outdoors and experiencing nature.
For students to gain a stronger understanding of the individual talents
they hold, to capitalize on and develop those talents, and to find confidence
in using their abilities to serve the world around them.
