English / Language Arts classes:
(we're continuing State Standard 2/Communication and will also cover
aspects of standards 3 and 6)
Monday:
- complete item sampler that applies to language arts for bellwork or correct
grammar errors in a sentence with information about this date in history
- finish presenting speeches
- begin critiquing speeches as a whole
Tuesday:
- complete language arts item sampler or correct sentence for bellwork
- practice spelling and vocabulary skills
- practice writing assessment to a randomly chosen prompt
Wednesday:
- correct sentence
- create essay as a member of a group
Thursday:
- review "item sampler" for bellwork
- present group essays and chose the best one
- complete "EveryDay Edit"
Friday:

- create original narrative poems and present
- analyze and complete "item sampler"
- begin reading _The Blind Side_
Tuesday:
- complete reading item sampler for bellwork
- continue reading _The Blind Side_
- read "The Dark Pond"
- begin handout using _The Blind Side_ and "The Dark Pond" to review word
usage and cause and effect
Wednesday:
- continue handout and review
- create original dramas in groups
Thursday:
- complete item sampler for bellwork
- present dramas
