Hello, my name is Penny Smitty and this is my 3rd year teaching at DeKalb
Middle School. I graduated from TTU in May 2006 with my B.S. in Elementary
Education. Currently I am working on my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction
at TTU.
God has blessed me with a wonderful husband Ronald. He works at Stones River
Hospital and DeKalb Community Hospital as a systems analyst. We have been
married for 3 1/2 years. I am originally from the Cookeville/Algood area.
My husband and I currently live in Baxter with our basset hound Ellie.
I love teaching. I am fortunate enough to get to teach my two favorite
subjects, math and reading. I hope that I can share my passion for learning
with my students and help them to grow into successful adults. I believe
everyone can be successful and everyone can learn.
I am looking forward to an exciting year!
