Mrs. Amy Finney

Hi, I am Amy Mangum Finney.
It is sometimes hard to believe that I have been teaching in the Weakley 
County School System for almost 29 years. WOW,I am getting close to 
retirement!

Teaching is challenging, and very difficult at times, but is the best career 
for me.
Working with children makes me feel young at heart and keeps me on my toes 
at all times!
My husband Rick,and I have been married 35 years. We are the very proud 
parents of Lowe Finney and Lauren Finney Dunlap.
Lowe has a law practice in Jackson,TN and he is currently the State Senator 
for District 27 the counties of Gibson, Carroll, and Jackson-Madison County.
Lauren married Zach Anderson Dunlap July 1st. "06". They reside in Paducah,Ky
where Zach is the branch manager for US Bank and Lauren is a counselor at 
the Four Rivers Counseling Center. Lauren works with adults and children, 
dealing with issues I don't even want to know about. Ricky and I are very 
proud of the paths our children have taken.  

Rick stays busy at the family business Finney's Floor and Home Center.
Go see him if you need some paint,flooring or redecorating ideas.

We are so blessed to have family and friends in this small rural community. 
Life is good in our hometown of Dresden!

Update..... "08" Ricky and I have a new beautiful, sweet, smart, and 
talented daughter in-law!!Lowe got married July 5th to Tiffany Staggs. 
Tiffany is a graduate of Union University. She has a degree in Social Work. 
She has since become a certified fitness trainer/ nutrition expert.
Lowe and Tiffany live in Jackson.

At Dresden Elementary we are committed to providing educational opportunites 
that meet the needs of the "Whole" child, thus ensuring the intellectual, 
emotional, social, and physical growth of every student.

As for me and my class,"work hard and have fun along the way".
