Mrs. Amy's Kindergarten 2009-2010
I am truly excited to begin a new school year with a wonderful new group of
students. Please read and review the information listed below as this will
help both parents and children to make a smooth transition into the new
school year.
Donations appreciated- Clorox disinfecting wipes, Lysol spray - We are
almost out of both of these items. THANK YOU!
Please take time to carefully read the attendance policy in your DES
Handbook. Remember to send a handwritten note or doctor's excuse for EACH
absence. DES only accepts 5 handwritten notes per school year. After 5
handwritten notes, a doctor's excuse is required.
***Please send an extra change of clothes in a ziploc bag to be kept at
school. This keeps us from having to call home if we have accidents or
spills.
***Please do not e-mail me any excuse notes or changes in destination for
your child. Our system may experience difficulty during the school day due to
computer issues or weather related outages and I want to send your
child home safely each day.
***Please keep the Weekly Information Sheet and the Behavior Sheet in the
folder for the entire week. This is my daily communication with parents
about student progress and behavior. Sign and Return this folder daily.
***If your child ever has a change in afternoon departure plans other than
their regular routine, they MUST have a Change of Destination Form in their
folder, a handwritten note from the parent, or a phone call to the office.
Otherwise, we must send them home in their usual manner. This procedure is
in place to ensure your child's safety.
***Please practice learning lunch numbers with your child. We will practice
at school also. The quicker they learn their numbers, the faster they move
through the lunch line. This gives each child more time to eat and "unwind".
*** Lunch is at 10:55 a.m. Parents are welcome to eat with your child at any
time. Please sign in at the front table by the visitors office and get a
visitor sticker.
