*Reading Test
We have a reading test every Friday. The reading test will be over the
skills and vocabulary words we learned throughout the week. The vocabulary
words can be found on the page before the story and at the bottom of your
child’s spelling list. We practice the meanings daily at school, but it is
still important for you to review these meanings at home too.
*Handwriting
We have started working on cursive handwriting. The individual handwriting
practice sheets are graded on a scale of 1-4-- 4 being the best. You will
see these numbers on your child’s paper.
*Multiplication
As you probably already know, we have been working hard on multiplication.
Your child needs to be studying these facts at night. Your child will have
to recite the facts to me out of order in 30 seconds. We also occasionally
have 1 minute drills in which they will answer 10-15 problems. In order for
your child to do their best on the timed tests, they will have to know the
facts. Also, they will be expected to know them at the beginning of fourth
grade.
