How do you decide my child's level?

Reading Levels are determined by administering the Rigby Running 
Record 
Assessment.  It is administered approximately every 8 weeks to 
measure 
reading progress and re-group students.

How can I find out my child's level?

Your child's classroom teacher and the Literacy Leader (Melanie 
Needham) have 
copies of the most recent tested level.

What does my child do in small group reading?

Students participate in reading leveled readers, word bank cards, 
word study--
(phonics patterns) and journal writing in each lesson.  A reading 
assignment is given for the student to read at home each night, 
Monday - Thursday.

Who teaches the reading groups?

Classroom teachers, special area teachers, and educational 
assistants all 
participate in teaching the Weakley Readers Small Group Reading 
Program.
