I have been librarian at Dresden Elementary for the past 12 years. I love
to read to my students and also for pleasure at home. I am have been
married to my husband, Terry Powers for 14 years. We live in Martin. We
have two beautiful daughters who LOVE to read! Rachel is 8 years old and is
in third grade at Martin Elementary School. Rebecca is 5 years old and
is a Kindergartener at Martin Primary School. I love to spend time with
my family, am actively involved in my church and of course, LOVE TO READ!!
The mission of our school library media program is to encourage students to
develop an interest and appreciation for reading, as well as provide them
witht he skills necessary to engage in activities and research for the
purpose of obtaining information.
it is our hope that as students visit our library, they would look upon our
facility as an enjoyable place in which they can build their knowledge,
exercise their imaginations and explore their world.
In addition, we strive to become an incvaluable source of information and
ideas to our school's faculty as we provide numerous equipment and materials
to assist them in classroom presentations. It is our desire that the
library will serve as a reference and study area for teachers as they
prepare our students for their futures.
