DMS Beta Convention Information

Theme: “Lights, Camera, Beta - Scene 75”

  • Why is convention important?
    • Convention is an opportunity for the Beta members to meet and compete with other Beta members from the state of Tennessee.
    • It is a reward for outstanding achievement throughout the year.
  • When is convention?  November 23-25
  • Where is convention?  Opryland Hotel in Nashville
  • Who can go to convention?
    • All members in good standing can attend convention.
    • Good standing means the following:
      • No outstanding demerits
      • Not on academic probation
      • All service hours from previous year complete
  • All parents are welcome to attend convention; however, if you attend convention with the club, you are considered a chaperon.  This means that you should attend all meetings and events while at the convention.  It also means that you will have a group of 4-8 students for whom you will be responsible.  DMS’s parent support is tremendous, and the club greatly appreciates your support.
  • Cost for students is $115.  Students are expected to stay in a room with three other people.  Cost for adults attending convention is $60 IF you stay in a room with 3 other people.  If you stay in a room with 1 other adult the cost is $120.  If you would like a private room, the cost is $240, and your child can stay in the room with you.
  • If you would like to make other arrangements, please let us know when you turn in your roommate form!! Additional costs may apply.
