First Annual Science Show at Hamilton High 96-97 I was an integral part of the 1st Annual Science Show at Hamilton High in 96-97. The first three pictures here are from that day. One of the things I did was demonstrating biology dissections. I began with the earthworm, crayfish, then the frog, and finally the pig. The students were absolutely in awe as their eyes were glued to the tv monitor showing the view of the dissection from the flexcam. |

I also showed microscopic slides of protozoans. The flexcam here is hooked up to the microscope. Even though you can't see any students in the pictures from the science show, the room had about 60 students in it. The large room was packed. It was filled with students. Four science teachers participated. It was run by Mr. Love, my buddy there. Several administrators and others were in the room observing. I will never forget my good times at Hamilton. |
Egg in the bottle trick. Here, still at the show, I am increasing the outflow of air from the bottle which will suck in the egg. A burning piece of paper will warm and stir the air in the bottle. After the egg is in the bottle, I blew the egg out of the bottle. You blow in by the side of the egg and the increased air pressure inside the bottle will pop the egg out. It is pretty cool. |

Flame test demonstration On a different day in my room I am doing a flame test demonstration that Dr. Whitaker taught me. He was one of my two mentors at Hamilton. Mr. Love was my other mentor. We shared many learning activities and good times there. |
Flame test demonstration continued The cations of salts will give off certain colors when their heated electrons fall back to their ground states, enabling their identification. It is hard to pick up with this camera, but the flames were different colors. |

Swoosh demo This is another trick taught to me by Dr. Whitaker. Using a plastic coke container coated with methyl alcohol on the inside, it makes a great swoosh sound when ignited. |
Hydrogen gas exploding This was a lucky shot by the camera in my room capturing hydrogen gas exploding. This lab was taught to me by Mr. Love and I have used it ever since. It is a must lab. There is nothing like combustion! |
