We are learning about the great state of Tennessee. I am taking vocabulary
words from the text and mixing them in with reading text vocabulary words.
Every Friday students will be given a test over these words. Please help your
child study these words.
I am also using a student magazine,Weekly Reader,as a teaching tool.
We read these magazines together as a whole, or in small groups. The
student is then responsible for completion of the last page. Students are
allowed to use dictionaries and go back to the text, while completing the
assignment.
OFFICER KIRBY will be visiting our class on Fridays during Social Studies.
She will teach D.A.R.E. Each student will received a booklet to complete with
Officer Kirby. There will also be a D.A.R.E. camp for students. Officer
Kirby will give more details on the camp at the end of the 4-5 week class.
